The Porta Della Carta is an important elaborate gateway between the Basilica and the Ducal Palace. The door is surrounded by a framework of ornamentation and allegorical figures; above is Doge Francesco Foscari kneeling before the Lion of Venice.
Notice how Attilio included every detail, for example the dark carvings of the Tetrarchs (4 joint rulers) located on the corner of the Basilica to the lower left of the Porta Della Carta.
